The Handmaid’s Tale is about to begin airing its fifth season in the US, and after the shocking finale of season four, it can’t come too soon.

The dystopian drama ended with the death of Joseph Fiennes captain Fred Waterford, putting his wife Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) on a collision course with Elisabeth Moss in June in the new season.

It remains to be seen how exactly it plays out, but for those not in the US, how can viewers on the other side of the pond here in the UK watch the series?

How to watch Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale in the UK

The Handmaid’s Tale airs on Channel 4 in the UK, so this will be where you can catch the new episodes.

However, although the release date for Season 5 in the US is around the corner on September 14, 2022, there is currently no definitive release date for the episodes that will air here in the UK.

We’re sure it’ll only be a matter of time until the date is confirmed, and based on the season 4 schedule, it could be within the next couple of months.

Season 4 began airing in America on April 28, 2021, with Channel 4 broadcasting from June 20, 2021. Based on this two-month delay, we expect Season 5 to start airing in November – however, with this not confirmed yet, I’ll keep this page updated when More concrete news is coming.

How to watch previous seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale in the UK

While new episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale air on Channel 4, Seasons 1-4 are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime VideoAvailable to all core members.

This means that you can visit that platform to make sure you are fully enrolled before the new season starts.

Where does The Handmaid’s Tale appear in the United States?

In the US, the series airs on Hulu, a platform that is not currently available in the UK. Instead, there are plenty of original Hulu shows Disney Plus Here, with Disney owning a majority stake in Hulu.

The Handmaid’s Tale is currently one of the exceptions to this rule due to the show’s deal with Channel 4. Whether this will continue Post season 5 remains to be seen.

What is the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale?
