Series 12 of Great British Bake Off may have just wrapped up on Channel 4, with the 2021 Great British Bake Off winner winning the coveted cupcake stand, but there’s a lot to Bake Off where this series came from!

The Great British Bake Off Christmas special is coming up, and the cast of It’s A Sin will see some baking challenges.

Plus, Bake Off has been ordered for three more series on Channel 4, which means we’ll see a lot of good things cooking through 2024.

So when will Bake Off return in 2022, and what can viewers expect?

Here’s everything you need to know.

Great British Bake Off 2022 release date

It’s too early to confirm when Series 13 will air in 2022, but based on previous years we can make some educated guesses.

This year, Bake Off went on Tuesday, September 21, and the year before, it aired around the same time.

Presenting everything is the same, and we expect to see the series air at the end of the year in 2022.

It was previously revealed that Bake Off has been renewed for another three years on Channel 4.

It’s too early to say, but we know that applications have opened online for season 13, which means the show has already started.

How to Apply for Great British Bake Off

If you think you have what it takes to be the next winner, you must fill out an application at Official Bake Off Apps Page.

You must be residing in the UK over the age of 16, be available for shooting dates (most likely between April and August) and must not have worked professionally as a baker, cook or chef.

Applications for Season 13 will close at 19:59 PM on Sunday 5th December, so you’d better apply if you want to have a chance to fill out our 2022 Glass Cake Stand!

Prue Leith has now teamed up with original judge Paul Hollywood for five seasons, and provided there are no plans to turn things around, both are expected to return in the new year.

Great British Bake Off hosts

Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas returned to host the Channel 4 series this year. This was Lucas’ second year of introduction to the series, after taking over as Sandy Toksvig in 2020.

The pair are expected to reprise their roles on the show next year.

Who won The Great British Bake Off 2021?

Group 12 was won by 45-year-old Giuseppe of Bristol. The Italian-born chef has succeeded in winning over the judges with his delicious dishes just right for the Mad Hatter Tea Party.

He beat runners-up Chigs and Crystelle, who were also impressed throughout the series, and both won the Star Baker twice and earned a Hollywood Handshake.

After his victory, Giuseppe said, “No words, I’m speechless for once. All I can think of is my mom and dad’s reaction. The truth is, everything I’ve done to deserve this comes from his legacy, it’s the best thank you letter I can send to him. It’s He’s having a really bad time being healthy, so I think this is going to be a huge boost. I don’t say too much or lightly that I’m proud of what I do, but in this case I’m really proud of what I’ve done. It’s incredible!”
